LorMet is Fighting Hunger

On the morning of November 22nd, leadership from LorMet Community Federal Credit Union visited Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, presenting the Lorain-based non-profit with $25,150 raised through LorMet’s recent member match campaign. Knowing their donations would be matched, members of the credit union responded to the campaign with incredible generosity, well aware of the challenges local families and food banks have faced throughout the year. LorMet has contributed over $157,000 for Second Harvest, providing more than an estimated 836,000 meals to local families since 2016.
“When we began our first member match campaign for Second Harvest back in 2016, our goal was to not only encourage our members to make a difference in the Lorain County community through donations, but also contribute as an organization and double the impact we’re able to make together. Raising money for a cause is a partial commitment and when those donations are matched, it’s our experience that donors react strongly. Looking back, it’s incredible to see the number of families we’ve been able to impact over the last seven years thanks to the generosity of our members.”
Daniel Cwalina, President/CEO of LorMet Community Credit Union
“Each year, LorMet and their members step up to help the vulnerable in the community when they need it the most. We want to make sure people get the food they need especially during the holiday season and we can, because of LorMet Credit Union’s commitment to our neighbors and friends.”
– Julie Chase-Morefield, President & CEO of Second Harvest
Thank you, LorMet Members!
